For 25+ years the NFFSAC has proudly recognized athletic & scholastic excellence in Southern Arizona. This year we are pleased to expand our recognition program with the addition of
NFFSAC's 12th Man Award
In Tribute to Joel Favara
Joel Favara represented the core ideals & values of the National Football Foundation; past, present & future—living his best life on the gridiron as well as an educator, a coach & community service coordinator. As an All-American High School Player & 2013 Pima County Sports Hall of Fame inductee, Joel reached a large audience including the football & Tucson region communities. He established alternative learning programs; coordinated a graffiti abatement program; street median beautification & was a grant-writer, securing better streetlights & sidewalks for Tucson neighborhoods. His career also included an NCAA D1 coaching assignment at his alma mater, Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University (OSU)), Arizona Prep Coach of the Year (Safford HS) & a master's in educational administration (UA). His exemplary leadership in football & in the community sets a benchmark for our selection of the Chapter's
12th Man Award.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
NFFSAC and partner, The Arizona Bowl, have created the FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS TOUR focusing on prep football across the Tucson Region. NFFSAC All-Stars are recognized during highlighted rival games and on Monday—following Friday games—So. Arizona HS coaches vote on an NFFSAC Arizona Bowl High School Player of the Week from one of the 45 schools NFFSAC designates as Southern Arizona high schools with varsity football programs.
